Once the fundamentals of any subject are clear and strong we can build up a strong, flexible superstructure. For instance, once we understand the basics of Earned Value Management System, we can then use this conceptual framework in any process or knowledge domain like Time or Cost or Communication. We do not classify the knowledge domain areas or processes and then define the fundamentals required to understand this knowledge domain. We reverse this sequence. First of all, we equip students with the fundamentals and then see how, where and when they are used.
